Thirteen Secrets to Prime Your Grant Seeking Pipeline…How To Jump Start Your Grant Research, Application & Management Process
This six week online experience is designed for small business owners and organizations that are interested in learning more about grant opportunities and the application process. The blended training program uses interactive media (live & recorded webinars, video tutorials, planning exercises, and selected online resources) to help participants:
- Explore why excellent ideas often fail to attract grants
- Learn how to research private, institutional and governmental grant opportunities.
- Understand what grant managers/reviewers expect in grant applications
- Review successful grant applications, and why they were successful.
- Prepare background information about your company that will facilitate multiple grant applications
- Get a behind the scenes look at how Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants are announced and evaluated
- Understand the best way to integrate potential grant funding into their business plan
- Discover valuable resources that will jump start their grant seeking process
- Develop an action plan to prime their grant seeking pipeline

Presenter Background:
John Grozik
John has been successfully involved with grant writing and grant evaluation for more than 26 years. As a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI, he has helped write and co-manage more than $2,000,000 in grants from such agencies as the National Science Foundation, the Department of Commerce, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. For the past three years John has served on SBIR grant review panels for the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA.
For more than 40 years. John has been evaluating emerging media technologies for corporate and educational clients. Over the past 10 years, his projects have included interactive exhibits for museums and trade shows (http://tinyurl.com/yguhved), development of enhanced television production processes for PBS (http://tinyurl.com/yg6pqyf), customized training for corporate clients (http://tinyurl.com/ylg8ub3), and the exploration of the intersection of innovation and collaboration (www.wavesofinnovation.com). He is an instructor for a technical college in Milwaukee where he teaches blended learning courses in Simulation & Gaming.
John is a serial entrepreneur with companies involved in product development for immersive environments, augmented reality and mobile apps. He has also co-founded organizations that support corporate refugees and professionals with careers in transition. John is the founder and Executive Director of the Digital Campfires Foundation, Inc., a private organization that provides grant application support for nonprofits, organizations and small businesses.
He holds a Masters of Arts in Communications from Marquette University, Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Science in Media Communications from Southern Illinois University.
